There is a host of natural life which cannot be accurately described as plant or animal but that shares characteristics with both. Algae, mushrooms and lichens are three that spring to mind and provide numerous photo opportunities. Without delving into the scientific details, the images here have been divided into several classifications for simplicity of presentation. Whenever possible, the common and scientific names have been included for descriptive and identification purposes.
