Nature provides a profusion of living forms which, along with their individual living environments, provide an infinite variety of subject matter. Whether it is the beginning of life with cocoons and Chrysalis, or the daily working activities, following beetles, ants, bees and spiders through these processes is enlightening.

Macro-photography provides access to the details of these small creatures, but also introduces a restrictive depth of field element. This can add to the drama of viewing these scenes by revealing small portions of the insect, or its environment, in enlarged, possibly exagerated, detail.
