Description : Part of the Texas State Park System, the park is located along the Rio Grande. It is one of those parks that you will not see unless you intend to go there. Its main attraction is the fact that it is the site of the largest petroglyphs in the U.S.
Length : 8 Miles- The Rio Grande and Petro trails are both out and back trails. The Petro trail splits off as a side trail from the Rio Grande trail.
Footing : This is a hard packed sand/dirt trail. It is wide, and serves as a fire road for the park. There are several rocky areas, but not long and not difficult
Terrain Profile : The Rio Grande Trail is a gentle descent of probably 150'-200' over its 3 mile length(which means a climb of the same amount on the return. The Petro Trail branches off the east leg of the loop in the middle of section of the trail. It is about 1 mile and descends about 100'.
Water Availability : Carry it. Available at camp ground.
Access : Parking at Campground or in day visitor area.
Other Users : Bikers, but saw none.

Driving Directions : U.S. 90 west from Del Rio about 25 miles.(7 miles west of Comstock) Park signs will direct you.
