Trail : St George Island State Park

Trail Rating : Because of the footing, only good for leg strengthening, not a good training trail.

Description : Barrier Island - Only a single trail. You can also run on the beach. St George Island is about 10 miles long, 6 miles of which is the state park. The trail starts at the campground and goes out to a point of land that overlooks the bay inside the barrier island. Because the island is mostly dunes, the sand is not hard packed. The area is covered with a sparse pine tree population, but there is not much shade.

Length : 5 miles (2.5 out and 2.5 back).

Footing : Sandy. Much loose sand. Good leg training. Wind in face going out.

Terrain Profile : Flat

Water Availability : Carry it. Available at camp ground.

Access : Parking at Campground
