Trail : Capitol Reef - Cohab & Frying Pan Trails

Trail Rating : Good trail. Three tough climbs, out/back.

Description The trails in Capitol Reef are challenging due mainly to the overall terrain profile of the area. Cohab and Frying Pan are two trails which range from moderate to strenuous. There are few level areas, and several sustained climbs. You will climb about 1500 feet during the course of this run.

Length : 8.5-9 (round-trip), Cohab-1.5, Frying Pan 3.

Footing : Good for the most part. Some loose sand in a 1/4 mile wash area, some loose rock(minimal), a lot of open rock shelf

Terrain Profile : Climb for 1/2 mile, descend 1 mile(Cohab), Climb 3/4 mile, descend 1 mile, climb 1 mile, descend 1/4 mile(Frying Pan

Water Availability : Carry it.

Access : Parking area at trail head , or campground.
