Trail : Huntington Beach State Park

Trail Rating : The firmness of the sand and the flat cross slop makes this a good training run even though it is not a trail. I would use this as a training area as the distance you can run is almost unlimited.

Description : No trails in park area. This is probably the best beach I have ever used for running. It is flat from the high tide line to the surf, and about 40-50 feet wide.

Length : There is a breakwater north about 3 miles from the Park, and private houses starting about 2 miles south, but you can run on the beach. From the looks of things you could run 18 to 20 miles easily using an out/back in both directions.

Footing : Sand - it is very firm from high tide to the surf. Great for running

Terrain Profile : Flat

Water Availability : Carry it. Available at camp ground.

Access : Parking at Campground or in day visitor area.

Other Users : Sun bathers, kite fliers.

Nearest City : From North : Myrtle Beach, SC (20 Miles), From South : Georgetown, SC (20 Miles)
