Trail : Gulf State Park

Trail Rating : Good running trails, you need to link several together to get 10 miles but they are nice.

Description : The park is a lot like St George Island. There are several lakes in the park, as well as some low swampy areas. Most of the vegetation grows on what are best described as hammock areas. The trails wind through new growth pine forests. The are single track trails and it take several, running in both directions to get 8 miles. The trails are not out and back but wind through the park in a way that allow you to run in both directions without feeling you are retracing your steps. The trails are designated as : Alligator Marsh Trail 3/4 Mile, Bear Creek Trail 3/4 Mile, Bobcat Branch Trail 3/4 mile, Hurricane Ridge Trail 3/4 Mile, Holly Trail 1/4 mile, Middle Lake Trail 1 1/2 Mile and the Armadillo Trail 3/4Mile.

Length : 10 miles .

Footing : Packed sandy soil. Pine needle covering is spots.

Terrain Profile : Flat, but a lot of twists and turns.

Water Availability : Carry it. Available at camp ground.

Access : Parking at Campground
