Trail : Bryce Canyon - Rim & Fairyland Trails

Trail Rating : Good trail. Fairyland Trail is a tough 5.5 mile out and back. Rim Trail is moderate with only a couple of short climbs.

Description Since the area is all canyons, most of the trails have very steep sections. The Rim trail is the only exception as it follows the top of the canyons on the west side. Linking the trails together is fairly easy, however, you are guaranteed to have some steep sections if you do a loop. My run was out and back to a feature called Tower Bridge on the Fairyland Trail(1.5 miles out) followed by an out/back on the Rim Trail to Fairyland Overlook(3.5 miles out).

Length : 10 miles total.

Footing : Good for the most part. The trails are well maintained and are about 2.5 feet wide in most places. The footing is dirt and natural gravel mix with a few spots of sand or wash stone.

Terrain Profile : Fairyland - 900 foot descent, Rim 150-200 feet of elevation change.

Water Availability : Carry it.

Access : Parking area at trail head , or campground.

Other Users : Hikers.
